Algaecides

As you might expect – Algaecides are used to combat the growth of algae in your pool or spa water. Swimming pool algae are small, often unicellular, and either float freely in the water colouring it green, or coat the sides of the pool with a green or brownish film.

Balance

“Balance” refers to water balance. It is essential to maintain the correct water balance to create the right conditions for bather comfort, chemical efficiency and equipment protection. The main criteria affecting water balance are calcium hardness and pH (the level of acidity/alkalinity). Treatments such as chlorine can also affect water balance. Cleaning Products To clean the pool water, the fabric of the pool itself and areas surrounding the pool.

Dispensers and Dosing Equipment

When ever you use chemicals – for what ever application – they will only work and produce the expected results if they are dosed in the correct proportions. It is not always easy – or practical to achieve the correct dosage levels by manual means. In those instances, equipment is available to provide safe and effective dosage.

Flocculents

Swimming pools and spas will always attract small particles of dust and other suspended matter from the atmosphere and surrounding environment. These particles can collect and increase to a level where they cause damage or malfunction by eroding or fouling important equipment such as circulation pumps. Flocculents are chemicals which coagulate very small suspended particles together into larger particles which can be more easily removed by the pool or spa filtration equipment.

Sanitisers

Sanitisers are chemicals that actually kill bacteria growing in your pool or spa waters which might otherwise grow to a level which could be a hazard to health. This group of chemicals takes a number of forms which can be applied as one off or continuous doses to suit any application or size of installation.

Test Kits

As stated above in the Equipment section, chemicals will only work and produce the expected results if they are dosed in the correct proportions. What ever the method of dosing you are using to apply the chemicals, you should always back this up with regular testing of the swimming pool or spa water to ensure that the ideal chemical conditions are maintained at all times.
